Additional duties include fats, oils and grease inspections, the development of a comprehensive regional mobile food inspection plan, and other environmental inspections, as assigned by the Municipalities.

The Regional Public Health Housing Inspector manages and inspects tenant complaints, hoarding situations, lead law compliance, and other housing related situations in accordance with the State Housing Code, 105 CMR 410.000 - Minimum Standards of Fitness for Human Habitation. Additional duties conducted by the Housing Inspector also includes, but is not limited to, responding to general nuisance complaints, inspection of public and semi-public swimming pools, and hotel and motel inspections in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws (MGL) Chapter 140, Section 32C.

Epidemiology Services

The Town of Mansfield employs a Regional Epidemiologist that performs disease surveillance and preventative health programs for the Bristol Norfolk Public Health communities through a grant program from the Bureau of Infectious Disease and Laboratory Science. The Regional Epidemiologist uses the Massachusetts Virtual Epidemiology Network (MAVEN) to track communicable disease within the region and to contact individuals effected by disease to ensure better health outcomes.
